What better way to enjoy an eveing with friends than in the company of Steve Atkinson, Business Manager from DGB Europe Ltd, who will present wines from .the Boschendal Vineyard

Few places in the world can claim to have all the wine lover could desire, Boschendal Winery is one such unique destination. Only an hour's drive from Cape Town, this magnificent winery is situated in the picturesque Groot Drakenstein Valley.

I cannot think of a more exiting location for this event combining food and wine together than the historic Maitlandfield House Hotel in the picturesque town of Haddington, East Lothian. The area is still today called the “Bread Basket of Scotland” because of the variety of produce available from organic vegetables to tasty strawberries and ice cream. You can opt for some fresh trout and locally smoked salmon by David Pate at Dunbar Smokehouse. Meat treats include local Garleton beef, lamb and pork and more unconventional meats such as venison, ostrich and wild boar. There’s also a good selection of regional drinks including Belhaven Beer, Glenkinchie Malt and Brammle liqueur.

Our guests will arrive for drinks at 7.00pm giving them a chance to meet fellow friends, business collegues or potential clients. Exchange some tasting notes from previous wine events or just chat about the . At approximately 7.30pm we were taken into the privacy of the famous Sixteen King's dining room for the four course, wine matching dinner. Steve and our head chef plan the food and the wines that we shall enjoyed at this event.

Middle Course: Belhaven Fruit Farm Organic Apple Sorbet

Main Course: Roast East Lothian Reared Beef with a North Berwick Mushroom Sauce and sesonal steamed vegetables complemented by new local potatoes

To Finish: Brodies of Musselburgh Coffee with Handmade Shortbread
