Haddington East Lothian Farmers Market
Maitlandfield House Hotel is located within walking distance from this town centre attraction, established in early 2000, in partnership with local farmers and the local council.
The Haddington Farmers' Market organisers pride themselves on the variety of produce available, from freshly laid farm eggs and organic vegetables to tasty tomatoes and ice cream. You can buy crusty bread and then purchase the butter or homemade jams and preserves. Or, opt for some fresh trout and locally smoked salmon by David Pate at Dunbar Smokehouse. Meat treats include local Garleton beef, lamb and pork and more unconventional meats such as venison, ostrich and wild boar – why not give them a try. There’s also a good selection of home-baking and regional drinks including liqueurs, plus a selection of handmade crafts and herbaceous plants waiting to enhance your home and garden.
We local residents know that we are lucky to live in an area that not only looks beautiful but also produces delicious food. The Haddington Farmers’ Market, held on the last Saturday of every month from 9am – 1pm (except December when the special Christmas Market date will be advertised), attracts many visitors from outwith the county, as well as local residents, who wish to take home a real taste of the county.
